Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. Currently, we are reviewing resumes for Outside Machinists in Mobile, AL. **This position does not offer Per Diem at this time**
Job Responsibilities:
  • Install equipment on naval vessels in a safe and productive manner.
  • Disassemble, fault find, repair and re-assemble shipboard equipment as directed by the supervisor.
  • Inspection of work, identification of potential problems, initiation of corrective actions.
  • Increase awareness of Quality procedures within department
  • Ensure adherence to correct work procedures.
  • Continuously improve communications and flexibility within the team.
  • Contribute to innovation/productivity improvements.
  • Read technical bulletins and diagrams in relation to work being performed.
  • Work towards the team goal of delivering the vessel on time.
  • Ensure work area is left clean, all equipment and tools are stowed away safely, and protected against damage.
Job Requirements:
  • Must have reliable/own transportation.
  • Must be fire watch certified.
  • 10 panel Drug Screen
  • Comfortable with heights
  • Lift 50lbs without assistance
  • Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Knowledge of ship terminology required.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate all fixed and non-fixed machinery.
  • Ability set up machinery to meet flatness tolerance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret job specifications.
  • Ability to perform work on marine vessels.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience.
  • 4 years+ experience removal and replacement of valves, disassembly of 2 bundle style heat exchangers, cooler plates, clean and reassemble pipes, valves, pumps, and soft tube condensers.
